The Independence School District Foundation believes that directly supporting teachers and staff is one of the best ways to help students achieve and succeed. There are several ways we accomplish this mission.

New Teacher Grants

Welcome to the Independence School District!

As a new teacher to the ISD we are pleased to offer some financial assistance in setting up your classroom. We are aware that teachers spend their own money for special materials and supplies and the ISD Foundation wants to ease that burden by providing you with a $100 gift card to purchase some of these supplies or materials for your first year.

Our Board loves to hear what was accomplished with the help of this grant. If you would like to share what you were able to add to your classroom and thank the Foundation Board, please send your letter to the ISDF office:

Classroom Grants

ISDF classroom grants fund multiple teacher-inspired projects every year, enriching our schools and offering extraordinary opportunities to learn ‘outside the box.’ Every grant we make is made possible by donations from individual, business and organizational donors–we rely 100% on contributed income to provide this essential funding!

The purpose of these grants is to provide money for classroom projects or programs that will enhance educational opportunities for students, Early Education and Grades K-12, for which district funds are not available.

The application will include the following information:

  •       Description of material or program
  •       Details regarding relevance to subject(s) taught
  •       Description of benefit to the students and community
  •       Actual costs in detail

Individual or team applications may be submitted. Non-certificated staff may also apply if they work with students.

2025-2026 Grants Applications must be submitted by April 16, 2025 for consideration.
